3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Structural Adhesive Film AF 163-2K .060 WT is a thermosetting modified epoxy adhesive film developed for demanding aerospace structural bonding applications. It is designed for bonding metal and composite solid panels as well as honeycomb sandwich structures, where high fracture toughness, peel strength and long-term durability are required. The .06 designation refers to an adhesive weight of 0.060 lb/ft², while the AF 163-2K .060 WT configuration uses a knit scrim carrier and has a nominal thickness of approximately 9.5 mil (0.24 mm). 3M lists the .060 WT version in red. AF 163-2K .060 WT is designed for a 250°F (120°C) cure, with the adhesive capable of curing from approximately 180°F (80°C) to 300°F (150°C). The cured adhesive has a specified operating temperature range of approximately -67°F to 250°F (-55°C to 121°C). The film provides excellent shop-handling characteristics, high fracture toughness and peel strength, and good pre-bond humidity performance on composite substrates. It can be used in low-pressure and vacuum-bag bonding processes, making it suitable for aerospace composite and sandwich-panel fabrication.
