Description
3M™ Polyurethane Protective Boot SJ8665 FP612-3 is a transparent, thermoformed polyurethane protective boot designed for aerospace surface and erosion protection. The SJ8665 material is UV-stable and formulated to maintain its clarity over time while providing a durable protective barrier against rain, sand, airborne particles, abrasion, scratching, punctures, moisture and minor impact. The FP612 configuration is part of the SJ8665 protective-boot family for Boeing 737 MAX winglet applications. 3M's aerospace documentation identifies FP611, FP612, FP613 and FP614 as upper and lower left/right winglet boots for the 737 MAX, with a transparent gloss finish. The boot is custom formed for a precise fit and is backed with an acrylic adhesive designed to provide durable bonding to aircraft surfaces. SJ8665 protective boots can be applied to both metal and composite surfaces and can help protect vulnerable aircraft areas from erosion and surface damage.
