Description
3M™ Polyurethane Protective Boot SJ8665 FP614-3 is a transparent, thermoformed polyurethane protective boot designed for aircraft surface and erosion protection. The SJ8665 material is custom formed to provide a precise fit over the corresponding aircraft component and creates a durable protective barrier against rain, sand, abrasion, scratching, punctures, moisture, UV exposure and minor impact. The FP614 configuration is part of 3M's SJ8665 protective-boot range for the Boeing 737 MAX. 3M's aerospace documentation lists FP611, FP612, FP613 and FP614 as the upper/lower left and right winglet boots, using SJ8665 material with a gloss transparent finish. The boot is adhesive-backed and designed for installation on aircraft surfaces, including metal and composite structures. The UV-stable polyurethane is formulated to maintain clarity without yellowing and can be used for protection of vulnerable aerodynamic surfaces. 3M also states that SJ8665 can be used on radomes with virtually no reduction in transmissivity.
