Description
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EC-1458 is a one-part, solvent-based elastomer adhesive designed for applications requiring strong adhesion together with resistance to oil, gasoline, aromatic solvents and aviation fuels. It has unusually strong adhesion to metal, glass, wood, synthetic rubber, and other porous and non-porous surfaces. The adhesive has a heavy-syrup consistency and can be applied by brush or flow applicator. Its transparent amber formulation provides a tough, flexible bond and excellent low-temperature flexibility. One gallon can cover approximately 200 sq. ft. when brush applied. For aerospace applications, EC-1458 can be used for bonding and protecting aircraft components exposed to aviation fuel, including areas around refueling/defueling fittings, fuel dump valves, drain ports, access panels, system plumbing and fuel-tank vents.
