Description
3M™ Scotch-Weld™ EC-2216 B/A Grey is a flexible, two-part, room-temperature-curing epoxy adhesive developed for demanding aerospace bonding applications. It provides high peel and shear strength while retaining flexibility, helping the cured bond withstand shock, vibration, flexing, and environmental aging. 3M specifically identifies the EC-2216 B/A version as labeled, packaged, tested, and certified for aircraft and aerospace applications. The adhesive uses a 2:3 mix ratio and provides approximately 90 minutes of work life at room temperature. It reaches handling strength in approximately 12 hours and is fully cured in about 7 days at 22°C, with heat capable of accelerating the cure. It can bond metals, plastics, rubber, wood, and masonry products and is also suitable for applications requiring performance at cryogenic temperatures.
