3M™ Aerospace Sealant AC-730 B-1/2 is a two-component, non-chromated, corrosion-inhibitive polysulfide fuselage sealant designed for demanding aerospace sealing applications. It provides an effective barrier against corrosion on aluminium and between dissimilar metals while maintaining flexibility and bond strength under temperature, weathering and mechanical stress. The sealant offers excellent resistance to jet fuel, aviation gasoline, chemicals and petroleum products commonly encountered in aircraft environments. Its thixotropic paste consistency allows easy application by extrusion gun, injection gun or spatula, with good tooling properties and low shrinkage. The B-1/2 grade has a 30-minute application life, with a typical tack-free time of 4 hours and cure time of approximately 6 hours at standard conditions.
