3M™ Aerospace Sealant AC-730 C-8 is a two-component, non-chromated, corrosion-inhibitive polysulfide fuselage sealant designed for aerospace sealing applications. Its flowable Class C formulation is suitable for sealing faying surfaces of mating aircraft parts and joints against the passage of air or liquids. It provides an effective barrier against corrosion on aluminium and between dissimilar metals while maintaining flexibility and bond strength under temperature, weathering and mechanical stress. The sealant offers excellent resistance to jet fuel, aviation gasoline, chemicals and petroleum products commonly encountered in aircraft environments. The C-8 grade provides an 8-hour application life, with a typical tack-free time of 24 hours and a cure time of approximately 7 days at standard conditions.
