3M™ Aerospace Sealant AC-735 B-2 is a two-component, non-chromated, corrosion-inhibitive polysulfide fuselage sealant designed for demanding aerospace sealing applications. Its manganese-dioxide curing system provides fast curing while maintaining flexibility and strong adhesion on aluminium, titanium, steel, stainless steel, composites and many aircraft coatings. The low-density formulation is approximately 25% lighter than traditional sealants, helping reduce aircraft weight, while its solvent-free composition minimizes shrinkage and rework. AC-735 B-2 also provides excellent resistance to aviation gasoline, jet fuel, chemicals and petroleum products. The thixotropic paste can be applied by extrusion or injection gun or spatula and offers excellent tooling properties. The B-2 grade has a 2-hour application life, with a typical tack-free time of 7–8 hours and cure time of approximately 9–11 hours at standard conditions.
