Description
PPG P/S 870 A-1/2 is a two-part, manganese-dioxide-cured polysulfide corrosion-inhibitive aerospace sealant designed to protect aluminium alloys and joints between dissimilar metals from corrosion. The uncured material is suitable for brush application and cures at room temperature to form a resilient, flexible seal with excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates. It maintains its elastomeric properties after exposure to jet fuel and aviation gasoline and provides a service temperature range of -54°C to +121°C, with intermittent exposure up to 135°C. The A-1/2 grade provides a 30-minute application life. The SemKit® packaging keeps the two components separated until use, providing a convenient pre-measured format for aerospace maintenance and assembly applications.
