Description

LOCTITE 586 is a red, high-strength anaerobic acrylic thread sealant formulated for locking and sealing threaded metal pipes, fittings and other cylindrical metal assemblies. Its slow-curing formulation is particularly suitable for copper and brass fittings, where conventional anaerobic sealants may cure before the connection is fully assembled. Once cured, it provides a high-pressure seal against water, oil and many common organic fluids while helping prevent vibration-induced loosening. The sealant also fluoresces under UV light, which can assist with quality-control inspection.
