Description

LOCTITE 638 is a one-part, high-strength anaerobic retaining compound designed to secure close-fitting cylindrical metal components. It cures in the absence of air between mating metal surfaces, creating a strong bond that helps prevent movement, loosening and fretting. Its relatively high viscosity makes it suitable for slip-fit assemblies and bond gaps of up to approximately 0.25 mm. The formulation provides strong performance on a broad range of metals, including passive substrates such as stainless steel, and offers good tolerance to minor surface contamination from industrial oils.
