Description

LOCTITE 648 is a one-part, low-viscosity, high-strength anaerobic retaining compound designed for bonding close-fitting cylindrical metal components. It cures in the absence of air between mating metal surfaces to help prevent loosening, movement and leakage caused by shock and vibration. Its formulation is suitable for securing components such as gears and sprockets on gearbox shafts, rotors on electric motor shafts and other cylindrical assemblies. It can also tolerate minor oil contamination and bonds both active metals such as mild steel and passive surfaces such as stainless steel and plated metals without requiring a primer or cleaner.
