Description

LOCTITE Grade AV (087) is a red, one-part, high-strength anaerobic acrylic threadlocker designed for locking and sealing large, coarse-threaded nuts, bolts and studs. It cures when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces in the absence of air, creating a strong bond that helps prevent loosening caused by vibration and shock. Its relatively low-to-medium viscosity allows good penetration into threaded assemblies. The cured product is intended for applications requiring high locking strength and is generally removable using localized heat followed by mechanical disassembly. Henkel identifies Grade AV (087) as one of its original LOCTITE threadlocker formulations and lists it under MIL-S-22473E Grade AV for existing designs.
