Description

LOCTITE SI 5970 is a one-component, black alkoxy silicone gasket sealant designed for flexible flange and formed-in-place gasketing applications. It cures at room temperature through exposure to atmospheric moisture and forms a flexible silicone rubber seal with excellent resistance to oil and joint movement. It is particularly suitable as a replacement for pre-cut gaskets on stamped sheet-metal flanges, including timing covers and oil sumps, where vibration, flexing and exposure to automotive oils are concerns. Its rapid skin formation also allows low-pressure quality-control testing before full cure.
